Luke Miller, CPA, CGA

I was born and raised on a farm southwest of Vegreville and have been fortunate to grow up working hands on in a cow/calf, swine and grain operation.

Striving to get back to the farm my wife Karina and I purchased a small farm east of Vegreville in 2008 which we have been happily tying into the family grain farm operation. 2013 brought us our first daughter Olive and in 2015 our second daughter Hazel was born. We are blessed to be able to raise the girls in the rural setting with the freedom and connection with nature that I was able to experience growing up.

Being a pilot since 2000, both private and commercial, has given me the opportunity to  fly recreationally each week thus sate a flying addiction. Passion for sport and athletics has kept me involved in organized men’s hockey and weight training.

I completed a degree in Agriculture / Business from the University of Alberta in 2003, followed by an Accounting diploma from NAIT in 2004. Various roles such as lender for Farm Credit Canada, controller for small business, as well as public accounting work has allowed me to gain a range of business and accounting experience.

Completing an after Degree in Education in 2009 allowed me to teach a variety of Junior High and High School courses over a period of 7 years. During one year of teaching while working as a part time controller I was bitten by the accounting ‘bug’ and enrolled in the CGA program. Over the next four years I was able to complete the CPA, CGA designation in 2015 while teaching high school. The return to public practice and the diversity of work pulled me away from teaching in 2016 and back to Wilde and Company. I am very excited to grow my career with the Wilde and Company team.
