Emily Downey

I grew up in Red Deer and graduated from Hunting Hills High School in 2011. Shortly after that, I moved to Edmonton to pursue an accounting degree. I always loved the hustle and bustle of the city and never would have imagined moving to Vegreville. With that being said, I am very happy to be living here and look forward to what the community has to offer. Growing up I was involved in many types of competitive dance and played slo-pitch. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, cooking, camping, snowboarding, and travelling. Fun fact: I have visited/travelled to France, Honduras x2, Belize, Cayman Islands, Mexico x4, Panama, Dominican Republic, Cuba, approximately 40 of the 50 American states, and 10 of the 13 Canadian provinces.

While living in Edmonton, I attended MacEwan University. I achieved a degree in the Bachelor of Applied Business Administration program in June of 2016. This program was similar to a co-op term in that the 4th year consisted of full time work as well as full time classes. I chose this route because I felt that it would give me more work experience as well as better prepare me for the CPA program. I am currently enrolled in the CPA program and will start in May. I look forward to achieving my designation with the great support at Wilde and Company.
